Douglass Township (population <11,000), Montgomery County, PA, seeks a skilled leader to serve as its Township Manager. Manager oversees all day-to-day operations and coordinates the three-member Board of Supervisors, Professional Staff, Employees, and Community. The Township currently employees 24 full-time workers (12 uniform, 12 non-uniform) and up to six part-time/seasonal workers. The uniform employees consist of the police department, and the non-uniform employees make up the Administration, Public Works, Zoning, Building Inspection, Recycling, and Parks & Recreation Departments. The current manager is retiring after 34 years of service to Douglass Township and will remain on duty into April 2024 opening the opportunity for mentorship in local government management. Officials are looking for a communicative and collaborative leader who can assist with creating and guiding the vision for Douglass Township into the future. Candidates should have (1) 3-5 years of experience (preferred) in municipal government or executive level, private sector experience; (2) outstanding interpersonal skills; (3) strong financial skills and planning/zoning knowledge; (4) bachelor’s degree (preferred); and (5) strong communication skills. Salary Range is $80,000-$90,000 with excellent benefits; actual salary to be based on experience/qualifications.
