PROGRAM TYPE: Pay Per Bag Program
CONTAINER DESCRIPTION: 36 Gallon Orange Bag w/Custom Logo. Bags Sold at Various Businesses throughout Douglass Township. Businesses sell trash bags as a free service to the community.
COST STRUCTURE: $2.80/Bag. Bags are sold in packages of (5) with a trash bag insert for $14.00 per pack. Each case of trash bags (250 bags, 50 packages) are invoiced after delivery in the amount of $700.00 per case.
SERVICE PROVIDER: Keystone Trash Disposal, Curbside Recycling, and Bulk Waste.
RECYCLING PROGRAM: Mandatory ordinance for curbside collection of commingled aluminum, glass, and steel containers including empty aerosol and paint cans, plastics coded 1-7, newspaper, junk mail with paper placed in paper or plastic grocery bag. Weekly collection of waste, bi-weekly collection of recyclables.
The Township's Small Business Drop Off Center is open every Wednesday and Saturday of each month for the collection of corrugated cardboard, commingled materials, high grade office paper, household scrap metals, leaf and yard trimmings, household electronics, clothing and shoes, rechargeable batteries, and empty propane cylinders. Funding from trash bags provides all trash and recycling services in Douglass Township. Douglass Township does not use tax money to support the trash and recycling program.
